So far since I bought the car:
-the oil started to leak could be either a gasket or just a oil pan (15 year old car you can't really say it's running like brand new if it was used under normal condition) Haven't fixed it and might not be fixed.
-Turning Indicators won't work the left and right indicators are not working could just be the switch is broken from the inside or electric wiring (must be fixed as soon as possible)
This car is still amazing I love the wide body and muscle this car gives when it's being driven 3.8L is just pure power It's built like a tank. It can speed up to 140 km/h on the highway like it was gliding on air. It can beat most cars today with out thinking twice.
Love the leather interior it makes me feel like am sitting on a lazy boy while am driving and my passengers feel the same. The wood paneling give it that old school look. Very spacious in the front and in the back and even in the trunk. The dashbord and knobs are all easy to see and operate and everything is electric from windows to seat ajusment. Love the aqua-green backlight for everything.
The color of the car is very relaxing it's grayish silver with crome sidings.
Well It's me folks am here to give you a updated on the car well I fixed the the indicator problem it was just a some kind of fuse it was called a flash signal fuse it cost me $30 to fix with installation.
My new problems (problems under normal driving conditions)
1. The Brakes and Pads all in all cost $113
2. The Front left side bearing all in all cost $110
To install all this is about $100 max $150 maybe less I will post it you how much I paid as soon as its done.
3.I have a fuel leak.. checked it myself nothing from the gas tank might just be a fuel line or fuel cable or even just a clam that connects from the fuel tank to the hose when where you pump your gas that is loose I will get back to you as soon as I find out the problem and the cost.
Okay folks the verdict is a total of $543 was spend on the buick
1. brakes and pads $113
2. front left bearing $110
-I came across the problem that my rear left side caliper was leaking replaced it for $100 and the brake hose for $20
the total installation was $200 and he even did my brake line for me with no extra charge... Not pad since the job took 4 hours reason being the brakes where so old that everything was so rusted so he had to use a blow torch to loosen the screws to remove the calipers.
*Now the car is running smoother then ever*
Now for the fuel leak the fuel filler neck at the end that connects with the gas tank is rusted thus reason for having the gas leak. My mechanic told me to go look for the part which is hard to find, but maybe I will have luck at the junk yard. He said he would install it for me for $30. For now he said it's not a big deal just don't over pump and over fill the gas tank.
Hello folks, haven't been here since my last login. I am here to tell you of what has happened over the past months.
During January 2008 I was getting tired of the tape deck that was in the Regal, so I upgraded to a JVC MP3 STEREO premium KD-G730, which cost me about $240 at Best Buy with free installation, but I came across a few problems:
1. The housing for the new stereo was hard to find; found one after a week, it was $35
2. Had to get extra wires and antenna connector, which was with extra work time because the basic installation did not cover that kind of procedure $60.
Grand total of $335.
April 30th I had a general tune up done on the car just to make the car ready for summer. I had the spark plugs changed (old ones were finished) cost me $15, new accessory belt (old one was seriously cracked) cost me $30, new air filter (old one was as black as my black dress shoes) $10 with $50 labour. Grand total of $105.
Now the car as better gas mileage with just does simple things. With a full tank I used to get about 360-380 km (last up to 4-5 days) before the tune up, and now after the tune up I am getting 400-440 km (last up to 6-7 days) which is a big improvement.
This summer I was think of fixing the whole exhaust system and gasket to keep this car running for as long as I can. I will keep you posted on any updates.
Also since I got the car at 132 000 km. I am now at 150 000 km.
