Nothing until now.
• Moving the gear from the "P" to the "D" is usually not smooth and is associated with a sound. But I don't feel it's a problem, is it?
• The car feels very reliable, has a decent ride and quite luxurious for its price.
• Horse power is quite good and the car gives the impression of being able to pull its way on any slope with full load.
• Most of the common options are there, although for an unknown reason the antenna is manual!! You have to open the window and pull it up by hand. I hear some noise when listening to the radio. Don't know if its the antenna or bad quality of the Radio.
• The A/C is excellent.
• The double color of the dash board is nice and the seats are quite large, but I wish I could adjust them to be further away from the dash board cause I'm a bit tall.
• The car is very stable at all speeds and takes corners quite nicely.
• The trunk is quite roomy. Though it would have been a lot better to reduce this space slightly in the favor of the space between the backseats and the front ones which are quite tight.
Things that are not quite impressive:
• The acceleration is not that impressive (In comparison with the Lancer) from 0 – 40 km/hr. It then picks up somewhat from 40 – 100 km/hr.
• Paint on the bumpers is not one of its strong points it comes out easily with any scratch.
• The car gives me 9-10 km/liter on a mixed road (high road and in town) which is in my opinion less than average. But I thing this is because of its weighs more than its competitors (Mainly the Lancer).
• The engine is not as quiet as expected at higher speeds. I think that's normal for this category of cars.
• What I didn't like mainly is the Heavy Steering compared to the Daewoo Lanos and many other cars in the same category.
The comments I had read, did not encourage me to buy a Nissan car.
I bought one on the strong recommendation of one of my friends who had driven a 2002 model Sunny till 2006. I purchased a 2007 model Sunny in April 2007. And there started the tale of my miseries, not right away, but after I had run 5000km. First there was ticking sound coming out of the dashboard, which I had to get rid of only after leaving my car with the Nissan Service Center here in Dubai for two days. A week after this, its fuel guage indicator did not alarm me about the fuel's reserve-level situation and I had to stop in the middle of the road. I got my car pushed to the side of the road with the help of some passersby and made a bee line to the nearest gas station. (I admit I didn't comprehend the situation initially, since the panel indicator didn't turn on even for a second and the main fuel guage hand was well above the end level! My Sunny has run well over 18,000km and I am going to take it to the service centre for a number of complaints:
1. Geeking sound from the front of the vehicle when I leave the brake pedal and the vehicle starts moving, and on slow turning. (since this problem has occurred, the car's fuel consumption has reached alarming level as the car seems to be putting in a lot of effort to get going!)
2. Tick Tick noise emanating from both the front doors while driving.
3. Fuel gauge indicator not working
4. Steering wheel feels heavier.
5. Wind noise and outside noise on highways, you cannot engage in a conversation -- you need to shout to say something to someone sitting next to you!
(I have 35000km service contract agreement with the service center, and have attended 1000km, 5000km, 10,000km and 15,000km services. But they didn't even for once checked its brake pads! (I guess the geeking sound is related to brake pads, am I right?). What is use of keeping the car agency-maintained and spend extra bucks? -- they didn't bother to check its brake pads for 18000kms! I know this because the wheel cup locks I put on the day I purchased the car are still there!

Hi.
I'm planning to buy a 2008 Nissan Sunny (in Egypt).
I read several comments about the steering being heavy and I'm wondering how bad is it? I own a Daweoo Lanos and I consider the steering wheel to be extra smooth specially on a high speed.
What about the car's maintenance/spare parts prices? Is it reasonable?
Thanks.
Further to my comments on the 2008 Nissan Sunny published on 15th Oct 2007 I'd like to add the following:
1. Regarding the Radio: It works fine with no problems
2. Regarding the heavy steering: A friend of mine advised me to check the steering gear box (skatra) at Nissan. I went to check it at two Nissan official maintenancecenters and they said nothing is wrong, the steering is normal. then, I decided not to give up and went to a third one near "Carfour". they said the steering is normal, but if its annoying you we can loosen the screw of the steering gear box, but to a certain limit otherwise you'll here noise of the box. I agreed and they succeeded. Now the steering is excellent.

I buy my Nissan super salon 2007 in 09/2007 after several recommendations of my friends and relatives regarding the Sedan 1600cc type. Regarding the price, it seems to be the most promising model in this category. It has a lot of options and some few luxurious finishing. The major disadvantages are:1) The radio antenna is manual!!. 2) The power steering is considerably heavy. 3) The lower dashboard is sometimes noisy and without internal lighting.
The only technical problem I still have after 6000 Km is that during a trip whatever the distance is, the engine suddenly goes down and return up and this is usually associated with the RPM reading and sometimes the engine stopped (the power is cut/off). It seems a very ridiculous problem with a new car but hopefully that Nissan Service, according to the guarantee, can fix it the next visit by the end of the next week!!! Hopefully!!!
