2002 Renault Laguna Privilege from UK and Ireland - Comments

"Nice to drive, but always something going wrong with it"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Turbo went; I was unable to stop the car as it sat at full revs until it blew the engine up. Cost of repair £3000. The garage where I got it done say they are doing 3-5 of these a week, so is a recall of these not warranted???

Tyre sensors faulty from day one.

Air con panel light on one day, off the next week. Cost to replace; £400 at dealers.

Xenon bulb headlight blew; replacement £95, but that wasn't the only problem. The transformer under the headlight had also gone; price of replacement £200. A common fault I have been told.

Squeaky driver's seat??

Central locking wasn't locking the passenger door.

SO COME ON RENAULT, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER OF YOUR CARS, AND I HAVE MADE SURE EVERYONE I KNOW, KNOWS WHAT I HAVE BEEN THROUGH. I even put off an old couple last week when I was waiting for my car (in yet again) from buying NEW RENAULT LAGUNA. When I told them all the faults they can expect to get, the salesmen was well miffed???

General comments?

I will never buy another Renault!!!

I had a Nissan for 13 years and they never needed anything but tyres and servicing.

Yellow OTS may pay if your car is less than five years old and has a full service history.
