There's some major radiator problems going on. I think the water from the radiator is leaking into the engine because I'm getting a lot of really thick white smoke.
The heater core is out too, which means no heat for the inside. Sometime it won't start or even turn over.
It's a gas guzzler, hmmm... what else? Oh, I hate it!
The shop mechanic I took it to said that Tauruses are notorious for their heater cores going out.
So you bought a 12 year old car with problems.--A friend of mine sold a 14 year old Mercury Sable (basically same as your Taurus) without problems. You should have bought from my friend- or at least you should have had the Taurus checked out before paying for the car.
My friend cannot sell his Sable which is 10 years old. No one wants to buy it. I guess the only price it will sell for is 500 bucks and that is with low miles. Tauruses are notorious for transmission failure over 60,000 miles, so you cannot forget heredity.
