Squeaky power steering.
Tracking off.
Performance is great.
Interior is smooth and comfortable.
Handles really well and grips the road better than my Fiesta.
Great car all round.
Real eye catcher.
The 106 GTi is a nice hot hatch. Compared with the new VW Lupo GTi and the VTS, they are all very similar. At the end of the day, the VTS wins it hands down. It's faster, sportier and handles better. Bye Bye 106.
I have a 106 GTi, and looked at the VTS, VTR, Lupo and Polo GTi's before I bought it, but everytime the 106 GTi wins hands down. Saxo's just aren't as fast or stylish, and handle very poorly. They also have a very cheap interior when compared to the leather and suede (they are cheap 106's after all).
The VW's are OK, just the Lupo is too tele-tubby ish and the Polo just isn't very sporty, or doesn't have the handling.
I compared a VTS to a 106, & the 106 won hands down. The performance was similar but the tacky interior of the VTS put me off. Half the time you can't tell the difference between the VTS & the VTR. For the price difference you want some exclusivity & the 106 does not have a look-alike (106 Quicksilver looks a bit puny so doesn't make the grade!!). Well fast & great handling. Buy one!!

No offense, but I have driven both a 106GTI and a VTS16v and in both, performance and handling are equal.
But you must be blind if you can't see that the saxo's interior is way better then the one in the 106 and even the leather in the 106 can't change that!
