"RWD classic with peerless handling - driver satisfaction and feedback in spades"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Central locking failed at 96,000 miles - apparently a common problem on high mileage cars, but easy to fix.

General comments?

Road-going version of the BMW touring car that used to race in the late 80s - this car really does have race-car handling for the road.

Fairly good straight line performance: 0-100 in 18 seconds, 0-60 in just under 7.

Brilliant chassis allows you to leave many more powerful cars behind on twisty roads.

Weak points:

Brakes fade when driven hard on tough roads for extended period.

LHD only.

Slow steering.

Gear shift is a bit too long.

Could do with a bit more power for overtaking.

You need more power in an M3? One might think your previous car was a Ferrari...
