1992 Holden Calibra 16v DOHC from Australia and New Zealand - Comments

"Good car, but horrible if you live in New Zealand!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Needed a new distributor at 77,500 miles.

New relay switch at 78,000 miles, along with the coolant system.

500 miles later the head gasket leaked, then blew.

ABS never worked.

All dashboard lights stay on, even though the car is checked and fixed constantly.

Seats were wearing out when I got the car.

This car does not handle well at all.

Very high maintenance on this car.

If anyone who is considering to get this car, I recommend that whoever lives in New Zealand not to buy it.

General comments?

Just about anything you can think of in this car has went wrong.

I live in New Zealand, and find parts on these cars are very rare to find, and also very high prices on parts.

I have to say this was a fast car, but it also came to money issues.

Buy this car at your own risk.

In this country this car was horribly made.

I just know this kind of car more than anyone else, because I read other reviews on this car, and those people don't know what the heck they were talking about.

I would have liked the car if parts were easier to find with wonderful service, but that was out of the question.

They are probably better made in other countries, since there were a lot of good reviews on these cars.

One good thing I have to say is that this is probably the fastest car in its class.

Sorry about your experience, but I do believe that Calibras are made in Germany, regardless of where they are sold.

Agree with you on the high prices of spares and the difficulties in getting them, although they did share their mechanicals and most interior trim and components with the Vectra of 1988 - 1995.
