"My biggest mistake I ever made in my life was that I sold this car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Just the fuel pump.

General comments?

An amazing car that I'm sorry I sold. One sweet machine and great performance (did some customizing to the engine).

Great handling and brakes on this car.

This was my first car, drove it for 10 years and never broke down, then I had an Isuzu, Chevy, Suzuki, and a Ford, and those cars broke down. Now I'm looking for another Jaguar since I miss having one.

I own a 1987 Jaguar XJ6, and I love the car, even though I have to spend 4500 Canadian dollars on it only ten days after I bought it! That makes for a car that cost me so far $10,100 dollars - 5600 to purchase and 4500 to repair!

But hey, wait a minute, could you buy a new car for 10 grand that has leather seats, is classically beautiful, has an engine that is famous for being "bullet proof? Can you park any other car in a public lot and have guys wait til you're gone inside to shop and watch them walk around your car admiring it? How about the handling of the car? What about the fact that they are entering the classic car stage and bringing them up to show specs is now an idea to entertain?

Buy one and restore it if you have to, you'll not regret it - unless you sell it again. Donna.

I recently bought a 1975 XJ6L. I love this car!!! I know I need to replace the suspension $1500 AUD and the brakes $1000AUD, paid $3800AUd for it. The paint work is Regency Red and is in very good condition, came up a treat after a cut and polish!!! Only very minor rust!!!

The engine is strong (rebuilt 70000kms ago) and the transmission is good.

The interior is red leather and is in great condition for it's age, I will restore it for about $500AUD.

So there it is, apart from the 18L/100 fuel consumption it's a great car... and yes it gets admired every where I go. I have a great handling car for not much $$$ at all.. and it may be worth something one day???

Steve.
