"Manufacturer should be liable for faulty parts"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Upper Intake Manifold made of plastic melted and leaked coolant and water into my oil which gave the "indication" of a blown head gasket. I have had 2 cars with blown head gaskets in the past and this was not the case so I did a LOT of research and found this is a faulty part that was later recalled and replaced on 99 and later models. However, GM Recall #07035 does NOT cover earlier models, such as mine. I contacted Buick directly and would like to request others to do the same to file a claim or report regarding this faulty part so that GM/Buick will be held responsible for the costly repairs this plastic part has caused many of us. The toll free number for Buick is 1-866-608-8080 and you will be given a file number for your records if in fact enough customers report this issue and they issue refunds or replacements in the near future. Please be sure to call and hold them responsible for their faulty equipment.

General comments?

This car is very smooth and comfortable to ride in for short or long distances.

I have children and a disabled parent I drive around frequently and it is safe and well equipped to hold wheelchairs and car seats.

Gas mileage is not the best, only about 12-17mpg, compared to 21-28mpg in my 1989 Ford Crown Victoria.

I would have your car looked at if your fuel economy is that low. You may need a tune-up or something else. Your in city figures shouldn't really even be lower than 17-18. I have a '99 Park Avenue that is currently averaging nearly 28 miles per gallon according to the computer (and that includes some city driving). Those figures are definitely not normal.
