What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing at all yet.

General comments?

It's a good fast car with lovely grunt when revved hard, I would appreciate it if someone could comment on this review and let me know its 0 to 60 time and top speed. I have not had an opportunity to time it myself.

Sounds like you got a Japanese import Vti or it would have been a 1.6l engine.

0-60 in just over 8 seconds it'll do 120+. If it is the import then I've found it very hard to get independent performance figures for this.

The UK and Ireland 1.6 Dohc VTEC will do 0-60 7.7sec and 130 mph flat out.

Hey, your vtec is pumping about 130bhp from a small 1.5 block. I got my 0-62 down to about 7.9 seconds, but that's hammering it into 2nd, and not something I enjoy doing. Top speed??? A car with such power should get about 130mph but I've never got that from mine. The best way to get a vtec to sprint is hold it at about 4000rpm and drop the clutch. It should get a good start at that. Any more revs and your just wheelspining. Hope I helped. Enjoy.

I've got a 95 civic cx hatchback. There seems to be a governer on second gear, engine cuts out when I get to 80km/h in second, is that a good feature? Anyway to override that? Email me t_w_e@hotmail.com.

I tested my car at a track day and they timed me doing 0-60 in 8.36. I feel I could have done better than that, but top speed I've got to 135mph on the clock. I have a uk 1998 vti 3dr so your figures could be different.

I own a 1993 civic 1.5 vtech and I was of the opinion that 0-60 was about 8 seconds. I have a speed limiter in mine which cuts power to the engine at 190kms. I think that's 119mph. very annoying... not that I drive that fast very often. I find that the engine lacks complete horsepower between 60mph and 75mph. is it because its between gears and the 3rd stage of the vtech has not engaged. its very annoying when you're overtaking at medium speeds. mail me. I've got a Honda Civic 1.5 vtec vti. It's a Japanese import. I've had my 0-60 timed and its roughly in the region of 7.2 seconds. The power in my car stands roughly at 128 bhp.

I've raced a lot of the UK spec 1.6 Vti's and I pull away from them at the lights every time.

It's a cracking little car, especially when it has a fair bit less power than it's bigger brother; the 1.6 Vti.

The thing is I'm having a little problem which is that my car is revving too high. I don't know if it's a faulty sensor or something. If anyone has any information that could help me resolve this I would appreciate it.

I will be putting clips of my car on the net soon so you can see how quick it is. To contact me please email me on: speedy_786@yahoo.com.

I have a 1.5 LSi 16V 94 civic 3 door, although its not a v-tech wen I rev up after about 4000rpm it starts to sound like a v-tec. A lot of people actually think it is a v-tech as its got 16" wheels and abit of kit. I've raced about four civic's of the same spec and I have dusted all of them. I raced a 1.6 Fiesta Zetec and managed to take him out too. I'm looking forward to my v-tec when I get some no claims discount on my insurance.

when she hits 4500 rpm the throaty induction kit and exhaust sound the buisness all the way round to 9000rpm when the ECY finally cuts of the fuel, she flies!!!

To the person with the none VTEC 1.5 Lsi, I also have one and the change in engine sound you notice is the second throttle butterfly opening. I don't know how good your technical knowledge is, but basically instead of it having one throttle butterfly to let air into the engine, when the depression in the cylinders is enough, it opens the second butterfly to let more air into the engine making it sound more throaty. A clever idea in my opinion and it sounds very nice.

I have got a 1993 japanese import Civic SiR limited edition! It goes like hell! 0-60 gotta be sub 7 seconds, and the top speed unknown as I hit 140mph with loads left in her. Just not enough guts to keep going!! VTEC rules, japanese rules!
