1996 Nissan Maxima from North America - Comments

"Best car ever, and I will probably drive it the rest of my life (which is hopefully 60 more years)!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Front seat belts don't retract as well as they used to.

Front left power window motor has got weak, probably because of normal wear though, as I roll it down to see the lines on the pavement every time I park.

General comments?

This car is a very fast and powerful luxury sedan. It is the best built, most reliable car I know of! I have literally driven it off a 5 to 10 foot embankment by accident after falling asleep behind the wheel, and was actually able to drive it home because the car is that tough like a military tank or something!

I have hauled lots of my belongings (about 5000 pounds worth) in the trunk, due to not knowing where I will ever be for about 2 years now, and still it is tough enough and powerful enough so that isn't a problem!

Haven't even had any transmission slips due to weight! Also the overdrive gear in this car's transmission is extremely high! That is great for fuel economy! This car gets wonderful fuel economy for it to be such a big car that it is!

This car is the best car ever, and I will probably drive it the rest of my life (which is hopefully is 60 more years because I am only 20 years old).

As well built as this car is, it will most likely last that long!

Maxima is the best car made hands down. My 1987 Maxima drove perfectly with no problems other than routine maintenance. The car was on the road 3 days a week minimum, 120 miles each day, round-trip. It had features that even many base model cars today do not offer. Had a 16-year old, inattentive driver not totalled it in January, I would've kept driving it til the wheels fell off it, no joke!
