General comments?

Generally good, excellent power for the money.

Goes extreamly better with front mounted intercooler, and boost adjusted to suit intercooler vice versa.

Interior is good as long it is at least a Berlina, even better if a Calais!

Engine has always run on synthetic oils, in gearbox, diff, & engine. Engine lasts a lot longer!!!

Extra injectors may be necessary if lacking fuel during boost!!

My 87 model skyline has a non turbo version of the engine in your commodore. It's been seviced using Castrol GTX oil almost exclusively since it was new. The speedo is reading 420,000 km's at the moment and it doesn't look like quiting yet!.If you want to go motor racing use synthetic oil, but realistically if you maintain the car correctly using mineral based or synthetic oil you're not going to see any difference!.

Yes these engines are good, they are old Mercedes-Benz designs made by Nissan.
