Electric windows ceased to work properly.
Rear exhaust box at 50,000 miles.
Excellent car - better than my old mk2 Golf GTi!
Very quick when revved - great "go kart" handling!
Perhaps the ultimate "Q" car?
Drawbacks - very grey plastic interior.
Over-all, the Honda Civic ESi is a good car. Great suspension and driving maneuverability. Powerful engine as well. In fact, I like its design better than the later versions of the Civic.
However, my greatest disappointment in our 1993 Honda Civic ESi is the durability of its body against rust. Our 1993 Honda suffered the same fate with the other units here in the Philippines where the roof got punctuated with bubbles then holes due to rust. I came to this observation that this is a factory defect because there are many Honda units of the same models that suffered the same problem. And this does not happen in other cars and models. We do not expect the roof and body of our cars to be eaten by rust in just a matter of 6 to 10 years, particularly when they are well-kept in an enclosed garage. I think the problem lies on the welding done in certain contact points.
I would like to know if Honda has acknowledged and recognized this problem and if they have addressed this concern.
Because of this, I am having second thoughts of acquiring a Honda again.
