"Big engine not worth the expense"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Repeated engine electrical faults.

Worn carburetor caused starting problems.

Head gasket blew after 2 weeks.

General comments?

Nice, luxurious, but hideously thirsty car.

Drove well, but was unreliable.

Hi, I just got a Ford Granada from my grandfather. I am not sure what to think of it yet. The last time I filled up the 15 gallon gas tank I had only gotten 150 miles off of the last one. I have been trying to fix the timing and carborator. If anyone out there knows the proper timing sequence for this vehicle I could greatly use your help. I think if I can get the gas mileage to some where around 15 miles per gallon I might actually enjoy the vehicle.

The Granada mk2 was a big square car, which was very popular when I was a teenager.

Dead square in shape is how all cars should be.

With plenty of leg room in the back, it had a great sounding V6 engine. You could hear the valve ticking noise.

Great to drive, comfortable and wicked...

The only thing bad about it (if you were on a low salary) was the fuel consumption.
