Nothing you couldn't expect from a 44-year old car.
An excellent car which always turns people's heads.
The best 3-speed steering column gear-shift ever built.
I quite agree. They truly are a great car.
Agree. The Victor is the European answer to the Chevy and had
much better properties.
Brisbane Australia... Probably one of the true classics because of their style, ease of driving & room for six Adults this car will undoubtedly go down in history as a great all rounder. The reliability lead them to be used as driving school vehicles & taxi's. The Metropolitan Police also used them for patrol cars because of their maneuverability & speed, they were quite capable of cruising at 75 mph (120kph). The 1500cc motor (later used in the VX/490 FB Victor 100mph (160kph) ) coupled to the almost bulletproof 3 speed column change manual gearbox made them a driving pleasure. The only downside was the fact that they were manufactured with lighter gauge steel so as to produce the eloquent body-lines & keep the body weight down, this made them more susceptible to body rust & unfortunately saw the demise of quite a few vehicle over the years. The 1957 F model is the rarest & because of Australia's arid conditions a few good original examples still exist here. A very affordable classic that keeps up to modern traffic situations without a problem. If you're looking for a great club car, look no further, the 1957 "F" model Vauxhall Victor arguably the best vehicle to have ever been built at Luton.
