1993 Toyota Corona EX Saloon from Australia and New Zealand - Comments

17th May 2001, 19:12

"Excellent all round family saloon"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Driver's side electric window regulator broke - not cheap to fix. Nothing else.

General comments?

Excellent all round car. Peppy engine, excellent fuel economy, easy to service.

Reasonably comfortable on long trips.

Only real criticism is excessive tyre roar on N.Z. coarse chip roads. It is due for a set of tyres and I will be looking for quieter rubber.

Well, I put on 4 new tyres.

Dunlop Monza 200 recommended for quieter ride.

They are quieter but not as much as I hoped. Maybe they will improve with wear.

Try Dunlop Le Mans J-Cinq or Sport 200. Cured the growl in my tyres. Originally came with Bridgestone something... which was abused for about 3 years.

My 1990 Corona XL 2.0 has done 250000km without fault. Go to Toyota for reliability and quality.

Just bought a 93 model Corona from the auto auctions, seems to be a top little car, however I need a contact to buy a service manual and owner glove box manual as they are not available from Toyota here.

Does anybody have one???

I bought a 1993 Toyota Corona EX saloon, and it's 2004 now and I'm still using it. The only thing that bothers me is the front mechanics like; suspension, rods, leaks & hose. What's good about it, is I never get engine problems. So it's reliable and has cheap maintenance which we all loved. I'm Just wondering why a big car with such a small set of wheels? General comment: A car worth keeping, parts are available everywhere, especially surplus parts.

I have a toyota corona 1993; it's great car, but I can't find the replacement parts (spare parts) on the internet or in the local market. Can I get some company names that supply the spare parts for this car?

Hi let me share experience of owning this car. Well protect it with magnetic pad called bear trap to remove metal fillings it works great for my engine I get no problem with it, maybe use motor -up for further protect protection. This AE engne tend to run rich and few air flow if you give it plenty of air the car will be much powerful as I have tried modifying it. I wish all people who own it could keep it forever as it is such a good car,as later part spare parts for this car will vanish soon, they are focusing on their new corolla : (.I prefer auri polish for my paintwork well its make my gli look new :).

I just bought 1995 Toyota Corona EX saloon model, 1838 cc engine, automatic, petrol, which we call gasoline here in Ireland. Problem is I'm trying to find out what injection connections it uses, so I can match up a e85 conversion kit to save fuel. The pics I've got on the e85 conversion kit sites don't show me the same connections as what's on my car. Does anybody know what they are? I looked at em already and know where they are, etc.
