"A Honda's nightmare"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

All of the belts had to be changed shortly after I bought it.

The hatch is broken.

My power windows are stiff.

The exhaust down-pipe is going.

General comments?

I had never driven a turbocharged car before and was shocked at the difference.

It was the quickest import I have ever driven and after a short test drive, I had to have it.

The handling is extremely precise and it is nearly impossible to skid thanks to the all wheel drive.

I have easily beaten quite a few V-tec Hondas and Acura late models in this ten-year-old sleeper.

I agree the Talon is a Honda's nightmare, but not only that, it's any 5.0's nightmare too and it's a great car.

Not sure about a 5.0's nightmare as I have beaten both a GSX and a GST Mitisbishi Eclipse which this car really is.

Not really a huge huge threat. Fast and nice cars though. I do own a mitsibishi and am about ready to do the 2.0L turbo swap into the cordia I own. But I also own 2 mustangs both 89's. But I do like these cars. They do come with their own problems, but any car this age will.

Vtechs nightmare? Don't think so. Maybe a plain old civ or teg. But put a turbo kit in a civ. and watch the talons in your rear view mirror. I have an 03 civ si with a bolt on greddy turbo kit. ($3500 and well worth it). Haven't seen a talon yet to keep up with me. They do give me a run for the money, but have never seen the front of my car.

Regarding the Greddy Turbo that was put into a 03 Civic Si which will beat a Talon TSI.

A regular 03 Civic Si: about $13000, a nice excellent condition 1990 talon TSI AWD: about $3500 if not less. Now with the $9500 difference, this talon can be SO customized, that the Civic will NOT know what went past it, even with NOS may not catch it, but remember, you;re still spending more and not getting much more. So the IDEA IS: With a TALON TSI AWD, you get Exhilarating performance for your money, and SAVE.

I'm with the Last guy on that one- Comes stock with a 12 am I correct??? for $500 you can upgrade to 18g or more turbo Plus another 5-700 and get a front mount intercooler, upgrade the intake, plugs wires, intake mani, exhaust for a total of around $1600. I paid $600 for mine. I think its the best bang for your buck and I beat quite a few hondas. I hope to be running 20 lbs in the future after major head work!

Well the talons look alright, and they are pretty fast; but my 1995 neon sport beat a talon in three categories: the tire burning contest, the high speed handling contest, and the acceleration contest. although I must admit that the talon does have a lot more top end.

The Talon does run good against 5.0 stangs, but will not take the 87 to 93 lx 5.0's. I know this because I owned an 89 and 92 and raced both of these cars (both completely stock) against a few turbo talens and although I give them much respect, they fall behind shortly after launch.

I've got a the 90 that was spoken about by the import. org fella. You need to be a competent mechanic or have the money to pay a honest one. I replaced the almost the whole drivetrain spent a lot of money and wouldn't trade it for anything (almost) If you want a tsi RESEARCH them. Find one with lo miles with out a bunch of mods. Buy from a competent seller. Preferably an older one. The younger owners have a little bit more of a leadfoot. This is my fifth one and I'm always trying to make future DSMers good luck!!!

I was looking into getting one soon too, but all I've found is standard, I can drive standard, but I don't know when you should push the turbo on the car, my dad had one and it was auto, he said best around 60-100 km, is it different in standard?
