"Great mileage and performance for the engine, a tough little car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The transmission went out at 84,000 miles and was a complete suprize thing, no warning, quite expensive for a new one. I have to replace a headlamp every year or so it seams, Belts squeel like crazy no matter what I do to them, and the brakes have had to be totally rebuilt twice.

Paint is peeling badly from hood and roof, just like most other shadows I've seen.

I'm six foot four inches and there is NOT enough room in that car, I always seem to be bumping my elbows or shoulders on things or other passengers.

General comments?

The gas mileage is great, escpecially now that gas is $217.00 a gallon. It's quick for such a small four banger engine, even loaded with people. The A/C doesn't bog down performance and has never needed attention. Stereo still sounds good, stock. Has always run well with just regular maintanance.

Overall it's been a good car, need something bigger if you are going to raise kids though.
