So far I've had to replace the basics, but it would not pass the new inspection test without $400 for a new catalytic converter. Also, the windshield wiper motor and turning signal lever had to be replaced.
The driver's side door seal has deteriorated.
The passenger's back door sticks and it has to be slammed shut.
The radio has a habit of turning off and never coming back on.
Most parts have been readily available and relatively inexpensive.
This car is unstoppable! I once had an engine fire and the computer was fried. I was able to drive the monster car for six months without it.
A few months ago I was hit when the other driver was not looking where they were going. Even though she had substantial damage to her headlines and hood and couldn't open her door, my Parisienne had only a dent. The impact only felt like I was in a bumper car. The bumper was incredibly easy to replace - it just came right off.
I get around 17.5 miles per gallon.
It is a very comfortable ride!
I am a proud owner of a 1984 pontiac perisianne and it runs beautiful. I bought it for $150 and there is nothing wrong with it except the starter. I have had nothing but fun with my car and will not sell it unless a good price comes up.
I own a 1984 Parisienne, I love it! I bought it for $500 dollars about a year and a half ago and the only problem I have had was the heater core went out, but I got that replaced for only $52 and change!! I cannot believe it, all of my other cars have been junkers. I realize I really got lucky when I came across this parisienne.
I'm impressed... I took over the 84 parisene from my uncle. It sat in the garage for 1 year. I charged the battery and put some starter fluid in the carb and it started right up.
The interior is showroom condition as well as the woodgrain dash.
We love the car and hope to fully restore it. The paint is dull.

I have a 1984 Pontiac Parisienne and I also love it.
I ripped out the 305 and replaced it with a chev 350 (monster cam) decked out with all Edelbrock top end components (700 cfm carb, intake manifold) and ripped off the cookie cutter exhaust to replace it with dual, flow master knock off mufflers and hooker headers.
I also replaced the old tired alternator with a high flow alternator to accomodate the 1500 watts of power running to my subs in the trunk.
I have recently also purchased a sway bar set and re-did the front end bushings with polly urethane.
This car is a Canadian made wonder and does not get enough credit as a dynamic, easily worked on and cheaply maintained vehicle.
I bought my 1984 Parisianne about a year and a half ago and the only thing I have had to do is get a new radiator and alternator. Mine has well over 200,000 miles on it and it stills runs like it did the first day I got it. I also live in Colorado and we had real bad snow storms this year and it did OK in it. With regular oil changes and a K&R Air filter my car is my favorite thing I own and I would never sell it. Plus it is my first car!!! I Love her I named her Ella after Ella Fitzgerald cause she is a classic and she is so smooth.

I just bought a Parisienne for $2000, that might seem a lot for a 1984 but it only had 70,000 miles and the body had no rust on it. It is built like a tank and I love driving it.
We acquired this great car from a great man who passed away a year ago. He had a system, but got stolen out of his car. The car had flow master dual exhaust headers, but that too was stolen when we retrieved it. The rest of the car is still good and runs great and very comfortable ride. It feels safe like a tank. All it needs now is a new alternator and stereo system!
I also own an 84 Parisienne and I absolutely love the car. The only things I've had to replace were the radiator, the idle stove (allows the car to idle properly), and belts and hoses. I've only had it for a year and it is absolutely wonderful.
There were only 65,000 miles on the car when I got it which was unbelieveable. I've put another 1,500 on it and it still runs great.
The vinyl top is still in factory condition with no rips or tears.
The paint has its dents, scratches, and rust spots like every other 24 year old car.
I love this car and it will run forever!
