"Thrifty but quick"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing.

General comments?

The HDi engine performs very well - it's quiet, economic and torquey. It is the first diesel I have driven that doesn't require the glow plugs to be warmed.

The car handled reasonably well with 5 passengers and lots of luggage, although it wasn't particularly comfortable for those in the back!

The DTurbo is VERY well specified for the price. The fact that it looks like an XSi or even GTi is fantastic, especially as it does around 65mpg.

I had to wait a while for the latest revision, but this one has new designed alloys (gorgeous!) and a slightly quicker engine.

Just an update to my original review!

I have now done 6000 miles and the car has developed a VERY annoying rattle in the sunroof - its been back to the dealer once already and is scheduled in again for tomorrow. The passenger seat also got stuck in the forward position which also meant a trip to the dealer.

Engine runs EVEN better now that it has some miles on it! MPG has increased but power remains.

The bodywork and engine of this car are great but the build and dealer quality mar what could be a superb car.

Well, I just stumbled across this review that I wrote almost 2 years ago... What a pile of crap this car turned into.. The Dealers (Howards of Taunton - an alleged Gold Lion dealer) have been very unhelpful and on complaining to Peugeot UK - they couldn't care less and said that it was the dealers responsibility.. Here are the scores on the doors...

First 1000 miles - oil leak - dealer says "no way" - until inspected

First 1000 miles - brake pads squealing - dealer replaces

4000 Miles - Squeaky sunroof - Dealer has "a look"

4100 Miles - Squeakier sunroof - Dealer may replace

4300 Miles - Squeakiest sunroof - Dealer replaces

8700 Miles - Sunroof Still squeaking - Dealer adds rubber pads

9000 Miles - Passenger Seat Stuck in position - Dealer frees

9500 Miles - Passenger Seat Stuck again - Dealer will replace - part on order

10000 Miles - Left car with dealer for a day - wrong seatframe ordered

10500 Miles - Left car with dealer for a day - wrong seatframe ordered

11000 Miles - Hurray! Seat fixed!

12000 Miles - Service - Car comes back with missing roof clip

14000 Miles - Engine fails to maintain revs at tickover - ECU Updated

17000 Miles - Sunroof squeaking - who cares anymore?

17500 Miles - Airbag warning light - Dealer has car for day - ECU Updated

19000 Miles - Alarm starts to go off when left parked - ECU Updated

20000 Miles - Front End Collision - Ooops! - Swear ABS didn't kick in..

23000 Miles - Interior door handle snapped off

24000 Miles - Service - Dealer trys to charge £27.90 to replace £6.70 handle - may have mentioned some of the above faults!!

25500 Miles - Passenger Seat won't lock in place. New Rails ordered and fitted.

Ah well - only 10 months til the contract runs out!!!
