"Couch on wheels"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Engine.

The 307 in with roller lifters is fairly quiet, but doesn't seem to want to move the car.

Transmission.

The THM 200-4R was not built strong enough for such a heavy car and engine engine. Consequently, I'm on rebuild tranny number two.

Paint.

The gray metallic paint is rapidly fading and coming off on the hood, trunk lid, and roof.

General comments?

Overall.

Pretty good, except the tranny; lack-luster performance, but comfortable and good headroom.

Driving.

Little understeer, barely any road feel, absorbs bumps well. Good drifting and predictable emergency handling. Most stable at 25-35 and 75-80 mph.

Interior.

Good headroom for front and back seat. Easily fits four tall and/or large adults.

I have owned a 85 delta 88 for the past three years it has over 200,000 miles and it has a fair bit of power in truth I believe the 307 cid two bolt main with the 750 cfm quadrajet was very under rated. The only problems with the lady is the carb like all quadrajets the floats wear out fast and the apostery don't allow quick entrance for bigger people. O by the way for some reason my olds has the 350 turbo tranny.
