1995 Acura Legend GS Sedan from North America - Comments

"Get one if you can!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

When I bought the car, the air vent on the passenger side was broken and needed to be fixed.

Another thing that was fixed by the dealer was the drivers side automatic door lock button. About a week afterwards, it quit working again. The dealer checked it again and concluded that it needed a new switch which was wearing out.

Also, after an early 75K mile service including a 4-wheel alignment, tire rotation, and air pressure checks, the steering wheel still pulls slightly to the right.

General comments?

Overall, I absolutely love the car. It is a dream come true compared to my old 1975 Buick LeSabre. I love all the luxury touches including the heated leather seats, steering wheel mounted audio controls, traction control system, memory seats, and the Bose stereo system with the 6 disc changer. The only option missing is fog lights.

Even though the car is six years old, the design and architecture looks like it's brand new. I love the aggressive stance with the standard 5-spoke wheels and 16 inch V-rated tires on the GS models, although they are a bit noisier on the road than I would have expected. It also looks very elegant in black with a spoiler.

All in all, this car is a sweet deal as it backs up all these luxury appointments with the performance of a beasty engine that has 230hp!!!

I owned a 1993 Acura Legend GS which I sold to a friend who still has it. I special ordered my 1995 Acura Legend GS Sedan Type II Engine w/230hp Black on Black w/rear spoiler with current mileage being 72K. I have the original invoice along with all documents with respect to the maintenance and care my car has received. I have stuck to the owners manual with respect to the required maintenance schedule and I'm proud to say I've never had 1 problem with its engine or the interior amenities falling short in any way. In 2001, I was waiting for Acura to offer a vehicle with more horsepower. After waiting for awhile I decided to look at other options. I now also own a Lexus LS430 which offers 300hp which priced out at about $75K. I now have both in my garage. After all every single person should have at least 2-3 cars as my neighbors would say. Some of which have asked if I would be interested in selling my Legend. The Lexus does have more luxury amenities as it should, being that it is 6-years newer along with the amount one has to pay. However, in my opinion the Acura Legend GS handles 10-times better in the snow, Bose stereo system out performs the Mark Levinson system in my Lexus and still stands out in the car crowd with respect to exterior and interior design. The Acura Legend GS exterior is a classic and elegant vehicle to see. 1995 was the last year Acura offered the full leather interior. The instrument panel and the luxuries the interior has was well thought out and is extremely user friendly. The fun, aggressiveness and handling when running on its original stock offered 5-spoke wheels and 16-inch Michelin V-rated tires allows the driver to experience true sport handling in any curves on the road. This car allows one to experience luxury along with quick acceleration and responsive handling. If you get an opportunity to own one, take it and ride off into the sunset knowing full well you have a car that will not disappoint you mechanically and in luxury. So long has it has been cared for correctly. Have fun in this car and I hope to see you on the road.
