"Nice body and engine.. shame about the rest"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Both ball joints were dangerously worn.

Radius arm bearing was worn and seized up.

Gearbox jumped out its mountings.

Brake pads went (sparks, very pretty).

Side repeater broke.

Central locking doesn't work.

Washbottle knocked off after flying over a hump (replaced with a hot waterbottle).

Heater only works on 1 speed.

Dash bulbs keep going.

Front pipe broke.

CV boot joint was leaking oil.

Joint of the gearbox and engine leaks oil.

Passenger door doesn't fit right.

Rear axle needs replacing.

Fuel gauge unreliable (as standard!)

General comments?

It's got very slight dents all over it, 1 caused by leaning on it slightly, it's a mystery how they happen.

Electrics on this car are rubbish.

It's hard to get the seats into a position where I'm comfortable.

It looks good and is a rare enough sight that its a bit special, especially with a properly painted bodykit.

Modded the engine, Kent cam, skimmed, ported, balanced chambers, bigger valves, vernier pulley. No problems with it, it's up to 120bhp, this car flys as standard, but now it soars.

I think that if you're prepared to put up with dodgy electrics, a dash that's held together with chewing gum, a fuel gauge that can't decide how much fuel you've got and squeaks and knocks coming from everywhere on the car, then you'll love this car, it's great fun to drive and leaves most boy racers standing.

And it's gorgeous.
