Ball joints are failing after only 28000 miles and the grease fittings to the ball joints and tie rod ends have now clogged as well (I have had a service on the suspension every time the oil has been changed). The last time I was told that they could not add grease to the passenger side lower ball joint and driver's side tie rod end.
I had the van in for a front end alignment and was told that they could not do the alignment until I had the ball joints replaced.
I have had two other Dodge Vans without problems. I am now completely disappointed with the current one I have. It will be the last Dodge I ever purchase.
It's nice to know I'm not alone out there in my horrible experience/problems with my 2000 Dodge van. I have had nothing but suspension problems since I bought my Dodge and no help from the dealership or Daimler-Chrysler customer service. Five-star what? I'm now suing for lemon law as I have had my van for 19 months and it has been serviced 19 times and is still not fixed. Now has problems in the rear. I will NEVER buy Dodge again!!
I have a 2000 Dodge Ram Conversion van that has had problems since day one. Dashboard cluster panel lights come on and all gages go off line for a few miles up to 100miles. Problem is intermittent. After 5 trips to 3 different dealerships while still under warranty the problem has not been fixed. They say it doesn't happen while they have it. Chrysler says they can't find it and since it's off warranty any repairs would be on me. Of course one dealership changed the cluster panel and another replaced a sensor. Should have stuck with General Motors.
I own a 1998 dodge conversion van. It is the first and last one I will ever own. A whopping 10 miles a gallon out of an underpowered 318...very impressive. Parts are a problem as this jewel was assembled with an assortment.. like a ford expedition brakes... and I still can't figure out the dimmer switch as it definitely not a mopar item. Oh, don't let me forget the rear end which is whining and will have to have a pinion bearing replaced... I could keep going on... but I don't want to be boring... I switch from a GM... I WAS A DOPE... never again...
This is my second Dodge Ram Van and I will not buy another one again! This 2000 van has given me plenty of problems. The present problem is with the ball joints. There was popping noise in the front end. While getting a oil change at Sears, I asked them to look at the front end. They said I needed 2 new ball joints. I decided to go to the local Dodge dealer (I told them about what Sears said about the ball joints). Instead of replacing the ball joints, my local Dodge dealer replaced the steering box. Well I still have the popping sounds plus a new sound (a mechanical friend thinks its the universal joint going). I've also had problems with the oil pump going twice before. I write this note to warn others about the quality problems with the Dodge Ram Van (year 2000) and the ball joint problem since that's a recurring problem that others have reported. I should have paid attention to my Consumer Report magazine's rating of the quality of Dodge products. I'm not too happy with the quality of my local Dodge dealer either on this vehicle.

Hi there, I have a 2000 Dodge Ram Conversion Van. I just had to put it into the shop today cuz my shaft to the axles just went out. I am paying one thousand five hundred dollars just to get it fixed.
