"A solid, beautiful to drive car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Air inlet manifold gasket leak.

New rear discs and pads.

Most rubber hosing in the engine compartment renewed.

New fuel injection relay (old part number unreliable).

Worn parts replaced in the rear suspension.

General comments?

Beautiful engine note, worth the money!

Road holding fine in the dry, dangerous in the wet. Respect the car in the wet.

Good firm seats, very little interior wear for a 12 year old car.

Good dash layout. Simple, and well built.

25 to 31 mpg range, typical 300 miles per £40 tank of petrol.

Hi Good review of what appears to be a superb buy at any age! I have an E30 320i at the moment, which unfortunately was broken into last week... smashed glovebox and stolen Cd player, some people just have no respect. The car is superb, and I agree with the engine noise too, and it revs to the redline with ferosity, loads better than my '96 Nissan Primera SRi... not bad for a 1989 car! I think I'll look at a 325i 1993 model next.
