1982 Ford Falcon XE 351 GHIA from Australia and New Zealand - Comments

"A grunty V8"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Engine blew due to a main bearing failure, but that's why I got the car so cheap (it had a slight knock).

Replaced the 302 with a 351 V8 out of an old 1981 LTD. Also threw in the interior on the LTD.

General comments?

Cheap and easy to find parts for. Good for towing a trailer or a small house.

I have an XD with a 351 Cleveland out of a drag car. It also has a 9" LSD and 4 speed Racing Trans'. I have successfully had this car over 240 km's, but I passed a cop at that speed. I lost my license. It's shedded at the moment. It would have gone faster though, she only had 5500 revs on the tacho. 2 months to go and then i'll post a top speed for her.

Well a Falcon with a 351 is the best you can get! I am from Malta (Europe) and have a Falcon XD of 1979. It's a great car in both ways; it's big and it drives superb. I want some help to find the front shocks, the fuel tank sender and the front bushes. If anyone can help pls e mail me on hajniken@yahoo.com.

Sounds like it's a nice car you've got there. I'm going to shove a 302 in my car while I do my L's, then I'll put a 351 in it. Sounds good hey!

Pass a cop at 240, lol, oh well good on ya, proves you have balls.

I'm doin up an XE 351 ute, C4, 9in, etc etc.

It was a 302, with C4, before I de-registered it.

It blew heaps of smoke, but didn't have one rattle from it, and I flogged the absolute hell out of it.

Ended up breaking an engine mount then that's when I started the rebuild.

Good to see some tough falcons gettin about.
