My Tiburon is only two and a half years old. It was bought brand new. I have had many problems with it.
It is automatic, and it has had the transmission replaced twice already. Which means it is on its third one. The car does not even have 40,000km on it yet.
It has also had the front and rear bearings and rotors changed on it. These are just a few of the many problems I have had with my Tiburon.
I am not happy at all with my Tiburon, or the service that I receive at the Hyundai dealership where I bought the car in Nova Scotia, Canada. The only thing nice about this car is the look of it.
I purchased a new 1999 Hyundai Tiburon in November of 1998, and it is currently having its FOURTH transmission installed. Not only has this been a continuous problem but it has had numerous other problems as well. (I.e. solenoids replaced twice, wheel bearings replaced twice...) I am extremely unsatisfied with this vehicle and from seeing other comments on this page, I know I'm not alone. I wouldn't recommend this vehicle to anyone.
I own a 1997 Hyundai Tiburon. I only had it two weeks when I found the transmission was going. We were sold the wrong coverage for our warranty so they would only cove a 1000 dollars of the cost. The total bill was 1900 dollars to fix it and it took them 8 days to do so.
This car also has a shake in the idle.
We were given no rental and no arrangments were made to help us with a car till ours was fixed.
I used to own another hyundai and now that I think back I had nothing, but problems with that one too.
I like the looks, but in my opinon Hyundai cars are JUNK.
I bought a 1999 hyundai tiburon in may of 2005 from a previous owner who had it all the time before I did and there was no problems with this car. I am wondering why these other cars are having so much trouble. Probably factory glitches.
