"Fantastic, low cost, reliable little mate"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Electronic ignition module - Malfunctioned at 160,000.

Rear shock absorbers - leaking at 140,000km.

Tail-light burnout - 170,000.

Gearbox beginning to crunch.

Front shock-absorbers - clattering, due for replacement soon.

General comments?

This has been a great value car for me.

Has had very little go wrong, only things to be expected for a car of this age.

Got it for a good price and came with all the mod cons, being the CS-X model.

Power-steering.

Central locking.

Alloy wheels.

Upgraded interior, including -

Revised dash with the tacho

Premium upholstery

Fabric headliner

Four speaker premium stereo,

Air conditioning.

I also have the exact same model and find it a pleasure to drive except for the under-steer that occurs during high speed cornering. Limited tyre space under the guards has restricted my choice of alloys and tyres to 17 * 5's, this has reduced the under-steer, but not eliminated it. I would love to convert it to 4wd specs as in tercel or sr5, can anyone offer any advice? contact me at panther063@hotmail.com.
