Nothing yet. Works fine.
This car is one of the last models of the Scirocco (in Europe).
It has a 1.8l (with 95 hp) engine. The car is quite fast for its price and has very good handling, due to its low weight and hard suspension.
With that car, you have a fast and reliable engine which really makes for fun driving. But be aware that the Scirocco is not very comfortable.
Finally, you have a lot of running costs because of the high car insurance rates for that car...
Pros:
* Fast Car
* Reliable Engine
* Makes fun
* Looks great!
Cons:
* not very comfortable
* too much insurance costs
I had a 91 GTII. The best car I have ever owned. Unfortunatly, had to get get rid of it when I moved to Australia (they don't have them here as far as I know, though I did see a late 70s "Passat Coupe" that looked suspiciusly similar!)
After previuosly drivin a Japanese "muscle car" (the Nissan Silvia 1.8 Turbo- or Gazelle in Aussie (with no turbo) ), the VW was a joy to drive. OK it couldn't match the Silvia's straight line speed and acceleration, but it made up for it in handling. No roll at all. Completely reliable (the Silvia was in the garage every 6 weeks, very unreliable in muddy roads of North Wales, due to a disasterous flaw in the design of the alternator (kept getting clogged with mud due to its open design). Everybody I know was really jealous of it. Pitty you can't get anyhting like it Down Under, people here don't seem to know that VW produced a classic sports coupe to rival the MG-GT (well other than the rare Karman Ghia). In fact I don't think they even got the successor the Corrado (the Scirocco is better looking though, it doesn't look like a hatchback on steroids, but like a proper coupe!).
Cheap to run too!!!
Shame VW don't bring it back!!! Hail the German poor man's Aston Martin!!!
