1987 Pontiac 6000 LE from North America - Comments

"Wish they made them like this today, maybe then I would buy a GM product"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Fuel pump is going out now.

Tilt wheel is very loose, kind of scarey.

Hubcaps flew off.

General comments?

I cannot believe this car is still going.

My grandparents bought this thing in 1990 looking new.

My sister got it in 97, and proceeded to thrash it.

She has hit 3 deer, and had two auto collisions. I keep putting on a new grille and headlights, she kept breaking them.

I finally got the car from her and gave it some TLC. The oil was black as tar, and the same consistency. The filter was seized to the block. One of the tires was the original full size spare, very cracked, came apart on the freeway when I picked up the car.

Other than the steering column being very loose, this car drives like a new Lumina, peppy and strong, no smoke and handles fine.

Enjoyed the review. Comments about the condition of the car after your sister had it were hilarious. It's too bad some people don't even bother to keep up with simple maintenance like changing the oil regularly. Buying a used car from someone you don't know can be a scary transaction nowadays because some people treat their cars like a piece of a trash.

Some cars are trash, but definitely not the 6000, before my mom owned 1 and it was so reliably the only thing she's ever had to do to it was get a new radiator when she bought it because a rock came though the grille and smashed the radiator and then had to get a new battery and then she owned it for 7 years never changed the oil never did any maintains to it and it ran strong and long it had like 200,000 miles when we bought it.
