Minor problems: quarter windows split at the seam on the convertible top.
Radiator leak... my fault.
Other than that, the car is phenomenal.
I've owned my Z since 1997. I've done some inexpensive tricks to it to bump up the speed a little and make it a serious handler. I've got to admit, I've owned other so-called sports cars before and nothing comes close to the looks, handling, relative speed, and quality of this vehicle. I owned a Chevy Camaro before my 300 and thought it was the greatest car since they invented popcorn. But the 300 is just in another league when it comes to fit, finish, reliability and nostalgia. This car gets so many looks from other drivers and pedestrians I feel like a movie star in it. Hats off to one incredibly built and beautiful machine.
That's good to hear, I'm thinking of gettin one soon, very soon. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. I hope it will be worth it.

I just prchased a 94 300ZX convertible about a year ago and have just started to restore my red ragtop. I also have found out that this is a fast car even without the turbo. I have had the electrical problems fixed from the previous owner. I have installed a Stillen body kit with a Twin Turbo spoiler and have added 18" wheels with 6 spoke chrome wheels and this has made a difference in the look of the car. I have taken off the panel with the Nissan logo between the headlights and no one knows what kind of car this is from the side or front. I like those type of questions. I have had a time finding convertible parts, because the previous owner had tried to open the top going at about 40-50 mph and ripped the back rails for the frame. These are made of pot metal and have found a left rail, but no right rail, so I have to have that one made from a metal shop due to the fact Nissan does not make any convetible parts anymore and no one in the USA has any leftover parts for the convetible frame. Other than that, I have been riding around in my new look car and everyone loves the way it looks, but have been pleased with the performance of the car and will be adding some components in the engine ti add horsepower. Budman.
Hey 300zx is not a bad car in handling and performance. But it becomes bland in looks. ON the other hand we have an SVX (that's the one with the funky windows in case you don't know what that is) that car stands out. People look and it can compare to a 300zx.
Sorry, but there is no comparison between a 300ZX and an SVX. The former is a bona fide sports car. The latter is just an awd space oddity that failed in the marketplace.
I recently purchased a 300zx Convertible and love it. I had the same problem as someone had mentioned with the back rails of the convertible top being snapped. I have not been able to find anything yet (it's only been 3 weeks). If anyone has an idea for me please let me know. My e-mail address is dkoch_81@yahoo.com.
Thanks.
I have a 93 300zx convertible with the same problems with the top rails. I was hoping to get the parts from Nissan, but alas. We all know the story with that. I am hoping to find parts via a JSpec dealer. Who knows. The weatherstripping around the top is also in poor shape, but a custom car cover (cost over 250 dollars, but well worth it!) has kept out all elements. The seats seem extremely durable and this is a definately great car to drive except on poor roads where the "cowl" shake comes into play. My car does not have a Z sign on the center piece and it I have received nothing, but compliments and jealous comments. I love it sooo much! JSpec twin turbo and 5spd swap is in the works. Lots of fun! Priceless car with great retail value for its age.
