"If you can afford to buy one... do!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

One minor oil leak.

General comments?

This is my first supercar. It is great fun to drive, but has poor visibility and you are very low to the ground. it has been a dream of mine to own one for about 7 years, and due to recent lottery winnings I finally realised that dream. Buy one if you can!

Whatever the reliability etc. you have to see the Countach for what it really is; a supercar from another era. This car is what became the automotive symbol of the 80s decade of greed, you have to love it for what it is.

Today is October 14. 05 and I just bought a 1990 Anniversary Countach in Candy Apple Red. 2400 miles and incredible condition. When I drove it I was initially afraid of the car having heard some negative things about it. However I fell in love with the cars raw power and stunning beauty. I should have it in about two days.

To the person who just bought a "1990" Anniversary Countach, nice try kiddo, you are either DREAMING or DELUSIONAL beyond belief! There is NO SUCH THING as a 1990 model year Countach, 1989 was last of the Countach and commemorating the company's 25 years. After a couple of profitable years, Lamborghini cars was being dumped by Chrysler Corp to Megatech Indonesia, whom later, the Diablo was introduced.

I don't own a Countach, hopefully one day I'll be able to buy either an '88 Pre-Anniversary (black with brass O.Z. wheels) or a 25th Anniversary model in white/white. I am somewhat happy with my Porsche 944, not an expensive car, but expensive to maintain.

In response to the previous comment, it is you that is wrong.

Many believe that Countach production ceased in '89, but it wasn't until March 1990 that the last Countach rolled out of the plant in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy, and because of the exotic car boom of the early '90's, it sold for around $350,000 USD. Many late '89 Anniv. countachs were also re-established as '90's. And did you also know that there were 12 non-anniversary (lp5000sqv) countachs that were late '88's, but were given '89 titles.

I think we have ourselves a little green-eyed monster. And to the owner, congrats!

Just to put the record really straight :

The very last Countach 25th Anniversary, chassis nr. 12.085 was finished on July 5 1990, silver exterior over grey interior currently still owned by Automobili Lamborghini SpA and shown at the official factory museum.

So you see that there would be several 1990 Anniversario's on the market, also note that some cars were only registered two or three years after production, they stood in the showroom all that time... I've even heard of a 1992 Countach, now that's really stretching it, but it was officially registered for the first time in March 1992... only way to be sure of the production year would be to check the chassis number.
