1973 Datsun 1200 Coupe from Australia and New Zealand - Comments

When I brought the datto it came with a worked A14 motor that had been bored out

to a 1550cc with a stage 2 cam, ported

head, twin SU carburators, extractors etc.

After only 3 weeks of owning it I began

to experience bad pre-ignition and slowly the engine began to denotate, I

should have got it tuned, but I was flat

broke at the time, eventually the motor

had enough and leaned out and stopped running.

The 4 speed manual box and C20 Diff used

to whine loudly at high speeds.

The rear bumper fell off shortly before the engine stopped working.

Rust wise it was excellent and had a fresh paint-job which highlighted the sexy shape of the ol' coupe.

The first drive was amazing, being such a light shell it just flew, and had

excellent handling for a car without power steering.

It left VTEC Integras and GT Corollas for dead from the traffic lights.

I recommend the 1200 Datsun coupe to anyone who is looking for a project car

they are light, handle great and the parts are fairly cheap!

My car is now for sale as it is $1500.
