"I wish I could have bought it when it was new in 1994"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Intermittent wiper module failed. $200.00 item.

Shocks, front and rear had to be replaced. $400.00.

Brakes, front and rear had to be replaced. $200.00.

Clear coat on aluminum wheels had to be re-finished. $200.00.

Front steering stabilizer had to be replaced. $60.00.

General comments?

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is the most comfortable sport utility I have ever driven. I love it.

Beautiful to look at, white with gold accents.

The items I have replaced can be considered normal wear items for a vehicle with almost 140,000 kilometers on it.

I feel the fuel mileage is on par with this type of vehicle. 18 city and 25 highway. No complaints here. If I wanted 65 miles per gallon I would have bought a VW Jetta turbo diesel. Try and follow me in two feet of snow with that.

Excellent four wheel drive system with select-trac.

The in-line six engine runs a bit rough, but this is quite common in older in-line six cylinder engines without counter balance shafts.

The engine is rated at 190 horsepower, but is not overly powerful. On hilly terrain the transmission is best left with the overdrive locked out.

Steering is a bit on the light side. It could use a rack and pinion system.

Very tight turning radius for a full size sport utility.

Very good sounding Infinity CD stereo system, but poor lighting for radio

controls.

I have driven the Jeep for 30,000 kilometers since I purchased it and have had no major problems as of yet. I plan to keep it for some time to come.
