The power window is very lazy. The motor belts sounds like chickens in the hood.
It's a great car, runs very well at higher speeds and has an excellent air conditioning system.
With a 'lazy' power window, there is usually an easy solution.
Just get some silicone spray (Ordinary furniture polish will do the job almost as well), and apply liberally to the runners with the window down.
Operate the window a few times to work it in and then wipe away the excess.
Voila! Perfectly functioning power window!
I have recently purchased a 98 Lanos SX and am amazed what a nice car I have. I have actually started to wash and valet it!The only thing I don't understand (I haven't managed to get a manual for it yet) is the orange engine shaped light on the left of the dash comes on within a couple of miles driving. Yes I have been to a garage and had it checked outi.e.oil, water, electrics etc, but still don't know why it comes and stays on. Anybody else had this problem and know the answer?Apart from this I have found it a wonderful little car with all the usual attributes a driver could ever want.
Re the above comment, that's your "check engine" which signifies a problem with the emission control or engine control systems.
Don't know what "garage" you took it to, but if they were not able to figure out what this light was and why it was on, I would not go back there.
If you take your car to AutoZone they will scan it for free and tell you what trouble codes are causing the light to come on.
