Fantastic value, would only own an AU Falcon if it had the body kit that the SR offers.
Great performance, this car would leave my previous VS Commodore for dead. Engine sounds mean at high revs.
Solid build, great color, good sound system.
Only complaint is that the dealer delivered the wrong interior - received black instead of cool grey.
I bought the stock standard Forte, and am very happy.
Only criticisms are that it is a little light in the rear end, so with nothing in the boot it can slip around a bit in the wet or when putting your foot to the floor, and that the idle is a little harsh. The NRMA review was spot on with the idle issue.
Love the shape, hate the new Falcon shape. I think Ford should have persisted a little longer with the AUII shape. The new shape is too much like a boxy old Commodedoor.
I'll be hanging on to this car for a while.
2001 AU II SR.
A great sedan, tough engine and no major problems
only mod made to car is 2 1/2" sport exhaust (cat back) and this has improved fuel economy by about 10-15% on highway trips as well as sound subtly mean around town and a little quicker on acceleration, especially from a standstill.
176,890 kms so far and still as strong as day I bought it.
A top car and no plans to replace it.
