Water pump broke at 40k miles.
Viscous coupler broke at 55k miles.
A/C broke at 60k miles. - blows cold for about 3 weeks after its charged. mechanic unable to find source of leak.
Right rear power window works on and off
rear lamp failure message comes on and off, but I can't find a bad bulb.
Engine tries to stall once in a while.
Oil leak from crank seal at about 100k miles.
Viscous coupler acting up again (buckles when making slow turns when vehicle is hot) and leaking fluids also this time.
Catalytic converter insides came loose and had to have it replaced at 90k miles.
Bottom of rear tailgate rusting out from water leaking into the tailgate. (possibly from loose rear window wash spray)
I'm glad I will be trading this car in very soon for a japanese vehicle. If your considering a Jeep make sure you purchase an extended warranty.
Viscous coupler replaced at 69k miles. Lucky to have had 7/70mi coverage. Now 14k later it's happening again. Wheel binds up when backing up and turning - especially when car is hot. Never acts up for mechanic when he starts it in the AM. But I say " Really, this does happen!" He says, "I'm sure it does" and smiles when I pay the $40 inspection charge he billed me for so he could say so.
I'm in agreement with all the problems reported. Our Viscous Coupler will be replaced for the third time on our 95 Grand Cherokee. This time after only 30k KM.
There have also been electrical problems that are constant and chronic.
