After 30000 km, the accessory belts did break and enter the distribution...the engine then had two valves broken...
3000 (3 weeks) later, same problem, but this time the belt debris broke the power steering pump...
Do not buy any Renault Megane... their engine is a disaster...
Ditto - 1998 Megane Scenic Monaco 1.9dti engine - alternator/aircon compressor belt sheared in half - half of it sucked into crank pulley cover then damaged cam belt knocking timing out by 90 deg. s and killed 3 sets of valves!!! completely spoils an otherwise well designed car, lets hope the engine designer is shot for a stupid mistake like that, Watch your belts!!!
