So far the only major thing that has broken on our car a cap for the side of the engine blew off, spilling oil all over the place. That happened at about 87,000 KMS. The gasket holding it in place wore down after 14 years.
The only minor thing that happens is the power windows are sluggish.
The clear coat leaves something to be desired.

The interior is all leather and in immaculate condition.
The T-roofs are awesome!
I like the fact that it is a sleeper car. It doesn't flash the fact that it's a Shelby Z, but off the line, she goes fast. I like seeing guys faces when I whizz by them in their Acura's or Honda's.
The Shelby Daytona's are great cars, but the car you described is a 1988, not a 1998.
I absolutely love this car! At the present time I have over 205thou miles on him and he's running strong. The only major problem I have with him right now is that the computer needs to be reset which of course means he doesn't run like he should. My other problem with him is that just about every part on him has been discontinued and can't get replacements. Luckily my mechanic used to work at a Dodge dealership so he knows some tricks of the trade.
I wouldn't trade him for anything instead I'm making my hubby trade in his Z28 for a Grand Am Se. Sorry I live in MT and Shelby just doesn't do well in snow.
