"A good looking van"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

New battery at 71.000 miles.

Split exhaust system at 73.000 miles.

Burst radiator at 75.000.

General comments?

This vehicle is great with the 8 seats, the kids and bags go in great for the holidays. However, it is very slow and just want's to slide acoss the road. A bit of wind and you don't need the weather man to tell you. Mid mounted engine allows you to keep a check on any unwanted noise, you can hear it all. It looks good and is good for parking, I like my Serena, but has too many down falls on some important needs.

I recently purchased a 98 Serena and I think it quite a bargain, given it shortfall such as noise and speed it has a comfortable cockpit compared to the tow-nace, lite ace however it tends to move sluggish at time overall I think it's a good vehicle.

I really would like to find a manual (English) for my my Serena 1998, 2000cc, Deisel.

I purchased my Serena 1.6GX brand new in 1999. It was costing too much to run from a financial point of view. I shipped it to my regular holiday destination, Mauritius where I use it more economically because petrol is much cheaper over there. I miss my Serena. I think it is classy and I am happy with its performance. It is the most comfortable car a large family can have. It is a pleasure to drive. Seats are comfortable although I do agree about the heat coming from below the seats as the engine is located there. Engine noise is noticeable from inside the vehicle n not outside except if you have a diesel one.

I am gutted as I have just written off my 1998 Serena. I have had it for 7 years and have loved it. I have 7 kids so need a large vehicle, I was pregnant with my 5th child when I bought it and it was cheaper to purchase and insure than other people carriers. I need a 9 seater now as have 7 kids to fit in and am thinking about the Nissan Primastar or Vauxhall Vivaro any ideas anyone? Back to the serena if it were big enough I would buy another one and I would recommend it to anyone the only snag was it always seemed to need something done to the suspension for the Mot and again what others have mentioned driving it on a windy day can be a nightmare but I miss mine very much.
