"A petrol Dracula"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Air-con not reliable.

Rubber linings came off.

Tyre alignments get shifted easily.

Cam head is very prone to dust and rust.

Drinks petrol like water, very thirsty.

Cooler fan electrical connection always face problems.

Radiator overheats on hot days.

General comments?

A remarkably fast car considering that it is only 1.6.

The SOHC system works very well with the VITEC distruptor switch.

The pick up speed can further be improved.

A cheap version of Sir model.

My Civic does 54 miles to the gallon.

As per your over heating use Honda parts only.. same thing happened to me when I used regular thermostat.

TIP:Remember to use Honda parts only, specially when it come to tune-ups. Off the market parts can cause a lot of damage to your car.

ESI is realli an economical car considering it is 1.6 single cam wif VTEC. with the high running cost, road taxes, hi insurance. I feel it is the most bang for bucks in non turbo category single cam engine.

Good performance for a 1.6 NA considering its a single-cam VT-EC. if modded properly egg.suspension, engine, etc, it can surprise or even outperform (with a proper driver) a lesser sports car especially around the corners with its DOUBLE-WISHBONE setup. sounds crazy or untrue, but the opinion is yours.

Fuel consumption is not that bad either and spare parts are in abundance...

From a scale of 1 to 10 I give it a 7 for overall opinion. It can also rev up to 9000rpm easily if you use a racing chip. The car is no slouch..

Hi All,

I'm planning to get a Honda LSi.

Can anyone tell me is this a problematic car?

What is the different between LSi and ESi?

Their more reliable than most cars out there. Make you get a well maintained one. LSi I believe is a step down in power and engine size from the ESi. It also has less features. I'm only guessing because the LX Civic is a step below the EX, so I figure the LSi is the same way as the ESi.

The Honda LSI is, in my view a fine car... I have just purchased a 1.5 1994 one owner, 3 door model, in kingfisher green with 28000 miles on the clock and prefer the drive that it offers over my other 5 cars which includes a 1997 pop up headlight MX5... (22000 miles) (praise therefore indeed.)

Because my car is so 'Japanese' and 'new' everything feels tight THOUGH I OBVIOUSLY cannot speak for its high mileage capabilities. The auto box is just a tad jerky as commented by other driver / owners.

Take the plunge with a degree of confidence when you purchase. These cars are so difficult to come across second hand that I would suggest you could run one for a while and loose no money. I intend to pass mine on in the near future and I anticipate a queue of buyers with bundles of cash in hand.

I plan to get a Honda LSi 92 Manual.

Can anyone tell me what are the faults of this car?

What are the maintenance that I will faced for getting this kind of old car?

Thanks.

It might just need a tune up (spark plugs, leads etc. Light on the steering, check tyres also, bushes.)

YOUR POWER STEERING PUMP MAY HAVE LOST ITS ABILITY TO REGULATE ITS PRESSURE OUTPUT.

THIS MEANS THAT AT ALL SPEEDS, IT WILL FEEL LIGHT. THE RACK WILL BE GETTING TOO MUCH PRESSURE.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE POWER STEERING, TAKE YOUR CAR TO A TYRE SHOP AND ASK TO HAVE THE TRACKING RE-SET.

Hope this helps.
