I Bought the car cheap with a blown motor, Replaced this with second hand motor. Purrs like a kitten!
Replaced water pump.
Replaced fuel pump.
The corona was a very sturdy and reliable car.
Although no rocket ship, the performance was adequate. It was particularly bad on the highway {sometimes overheated}, but
this could be remedied by the instalation of a 5 speed manual in place of the 3 speed auto.
The handling had a lot of body roll,
but with lowered springs and anti roll bars, would be quite good.
My next car will certainly be a corona
But maybe next time a manual CSi or Avante.
My dad bought me a Toyota Corona CS 1986 model car last year in October fairly cheap.
Since I have had to replace the thermostat and heater (due to the thermostat messing up) and the shock-absorbers need to be replaced as they are still the one's that came factory-fitted in 1986.
Despite these repairs, I find this car to be really sturdy and reliable. My car has a lot of get-up-and-go and I love that. I highly recommend this car to new drivers, I've just found it really good and I totally agree with all the comments in the post I am commenting on.
