"Has it all reliability, looks, handling, but no torque"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Not much went wrong with this car whilst I had it over 25,000 miles.

4x tyres (bought some cheap ones with alloys that didn't last!)

Ignition module broke and had to be replaced.

Centre section and back section were replaced, but not at the same time.

General comments?

Bought this car solely for its reliability, as I had a 1991 Peugeot 405 sri which was terrible! Also reviewed in this site!

I got it from a Honda dealer in Stockport, Uk and it was excellent. It didn't handle as well as the 405 but it could corner on rails and the fuel economy and reliability was much better.

The interior was a bit grey and boring, but the exterior looked cool with alloys I put on it.

The only thing I didn't like was a slight rusting on both rear wheel arches and the lack of torque meaning it had to be worked hard on the hills of bath where I moved to later on that year.

Cheap tyres do not last well, Expensive ones aren't a lot better. My '95 Vtec-E went through it's front 175/65 - 14 "Stunners" (£60 the pair) in 10k. Spent £80 on a pair of Pirelli 2000s and got 12K out of them. Just spent £54 on a pair of Camacs, hope to get 10K out of them. The Tyre dealer thought that was quite normal and says Michelin "Energy" are the only tyres that really last, but at £110 a pair will they go more than 20K?

I know what you mean about the hills at bath..

Expect to bugger your clutch if you live in bath all your life.
