Cruise control, turn signal lever on wheel, and tires were replaced when I bought the car in December of 2001, at 99,000 miles.
Engine began rattling at 107,000 miles, but has stopped with an oil change and lube.
Replaced serpentine belt at 108,000 miles.
I really enjoy my car.
It has held up fairly well with a recent college graduate that drives a lot as its primary (and basically only) driver. (I am very protective of my car and very cautious of who drives it.)
The condition is wonderful. The previous owner really took care of the car. The seating looks brand new. The car still has the original coat of paint on it and it still looks good. There are no signs of rust anywhere.
It is very reliable. I have driven over 9,000 miles in the last 6 months due to commuting to and from college and work. The car has not let me down. It has not given me any major problems. I feel that this car is definitely a car to invest in.
I love my car. I take care of my car and make sure it gets the recommended oil change/lube every 3 months/3,000 miles. If there is a weird noise, I make sure the car gets in the shop to be looked at. I drive defensively in my car, although rather fast at times, in order to keep from getting in accidents.
My theory is that to have a good car, there must be a driver-car relationship. You take care of it, it will take care of you.
I have driven my family's Buick Century for about a year now and its great! I love it even though it is a grandma car. Before it was mine it looked great until my dad got in an accident during the winter, gave it a great dimple you could say. The paint hasn't held up like this reviewsaid their's has, but it is smooth and powerful. Runs 100% better than my friends '95 Ford Escort LX. Great at 65-75mph on the through-way. Hers may look nicer, but mine is a far better car.
I just bought a Buick Century 91' last week with 123k miles on it. It seems to be in good condition. But I think the previous owners did not take care of its interior too well. The exterior too has mini dings and rust spots. The car looks good though.
Pros : Nice features inside. Runs well. Smooth cushy shocks.
Cons : poor pickup. not much power. gives only 18mpg - too bad. scary handling.
Issues : it shudders once when you gun the gas to maintain power at a good upward gradient. I don't know hoe to or whether it is worth it to fix this.
Overall it is a nice grandma car. Does things in its own laid back way. I should admit it is pretty impressive for its age and mileage.
The Buick century is a good car. I am an automative student end drive a century, The car is good in snow, rain, and on gravel roads. The 3.3 liter engine is the best engine for this car. the 2.8 liter engine is slow end gets worst gas mileage then the 3.3 end has las power.
The drive tran on this car is tauf I have had my car go air born by mistake and the suspension lives to talk about it if you have a teen driver this is a good car thanks Buick!!!
We were given a 1991 Buick Century for free from a friend. This car was in an accident and we figure to replace the body parts at a junkyard. This car sat for 2 years in a yard and never was maintained. The car started right up and doesn't smoke or idle badly. This car's antifreeze was like chocolate milk, It was awful that someone didn't even put antifreeze in or maintain it. This car rides like a luxury car. The interior is a nice red. I think this car has pretty good pick up. Just we need new body parts because of someone elses accident. As far as I see it's a tough car.
