"A ugly, great running car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Tires are always going flat, but that could be because their second hand.

Rusts like a dream, ugly even with my custom paint job with Tremclad (not recommended)

Bad gas mileage.

Heater went due to old age.

General comments?

If you don't mind a ugly, slow car that is bad on gas this is a great deal for you, over the 5 years I have owned the car it has never broken down, started right up in -25 C weather on the ski mountain last year when no one thought it would start, great in the snow/rain, and off roading.

Ummmm, yea. OK. The gas mileage is anything, but poor at about 25 mpg. Oh and just about any car will rust if you leave outside all the time and don't drive it.

Have owned an 85 Cavalier 4 door sedan for three years.

Previous owners obviously subjected it to lots of abuse.

Just the fact that it's started up every time it's called

upon testifies to the sturdiness GM built into it almost

20 years ago. Just replaced the front struts and rack and

pinion assembly. Although it's appearance leaves a lot to be desired, the old jalopy is running almost like new now.

I'm 65 and it shows promise of staying with me for the

duration. Would buy the same model again, being a lot

more careful and having my mechanic check it out first.
