Right from the first day on, it often went dead when the engine was hot and running at low engine speed. Like for example when waiting at traffic lights. The dealer replaced some sensors. This didn't help. Then he replaced the CPU.
At 16.000 km the left front wheel bearing started to make a noise. It was replaced under warranty.
One week later I was back at the dealership because the right front electric window lifter engine broke. Replaced under warranty.
Fuel consumption is really high. About 12.5 liters/100km. And I'm not a sporty driver. I wrote a letter to Daewoo, they came for testing my car together with my dealer and their answer was that the consumption was normal.
Now the worst part. I bought the car in July last year and now it start to rust on two different places. At the trunk opening and at the top of the door opening. My dealer however is not willing to fix it and from Daewoo I don't get an answer.
This is the last Daewoo I will ever buy.
And I strongly advise other people to stay away from it.
I was warned by a friend who had an Espero, but I told him that the Tacuma was a next generation Daewoo. This is NOT so. The technology and quality are still at stone age levels.
You have been very unlucky
yes o. k my tacuma has had a couple of minor problems
but they were fixed quickly.
This is the best Daewoo so far
and with the G. M takeover things can only get better
just look at the new Kalos.
NO, you are very lucky to a Daewoo garage that honors it pledge to service your car.
I have a Tacuma for 3 years now. 3 years of sheer hell.
It has constantly rattled since I have purchased it. The doors do not close /open smoothly.
To quote the garage I purchased it from, when I first received my vehicle (1 month late!) there was a 5 mm variance in the bonnet hood when closed. Now after 3 years of typical service from Daewoo and their representatives I realise I should have asked for my money back then and there when the servcie manager said you cannot expect panels to fit properly on a Daewoo.
Since then I have had services that are incomplete, yet are ticked off as complete. Every service has required my car to go back at least once, often far more time.
Take advice, don't buy from this manufacturerer.
Once they have sold you a car, they will deny you have anything to do with them and in fact they are right.
You will quickly find that you did not indeed buy a Daewoo, but a vehicle from an independent garage or another of Daewoos subsidaries.
Hence it is not Daewoo who has to honor your service contracts, but the garage you brought it from (if you are lucky.)
So to sum up you would be better of buying second hand bike if you wish to get reliably to work.
