Shortly after purchasing this vehicle my heater matrix blew a leak and cost me a hefty 300uk pounds.
This car is a rocket, or a "pocket rocket" as they say. Flies all they way up to 135mph which is the top speed I've had so far, but am hoping for the big 1-4-0.
Handles very well and is very good on winding country lanes.
I'd advise this car to anyone, but advise you make sure you get the half-leather which I missed out on as it was optional until 1998.
For 4500 it was well worth it.
Although I've seen other 106 owners say it, I simply can't believe a 106 could get past 115-120mph. They don't appear to be the most solid cars ever built and I dread to think what noises it was making at 135mph. I own a 1.6l 8v 306 and its fast, but I very much doubt it could get past 120mph despite being the sort of big brother of the 106. I haven't had a chance to floor it yet, but when I do Il be keen to see if it can get anywhere near your "135mph". Whats your BHP out of interest?
You need to floor a 306 1.6 to get anywhere anyway, as it's so slow. 0-60 in 12.9 seconds flat out. I'd hardly call that fast, and they barely pass 110 mph.
