The fan belt transmission fuse point blew at 32000 Km.
The seat height adjuster broke at 34000 Km.
The A/C is becoming less effective.
This was in fact a very good buy. It keeps up to it's name and performance.
I is just great for Indian roads, and gives me a very smooth & comfortable drive.
The engine is packed with a lot of power, I've driven it at a maximum speed of 170 Km/Hr, and even at this speed that car runs very smoothly.
Pick up is phenomenal, I can reach 120 Km/Hr within seconds.
I've heard that this car is very low on mileage, but ever since I have this car it gives me 10-11 Km/Lt in city and 14-15 Km/Lt on highways (with the A/C).
I very satisfied with this car.
Seems to be the case with most. it does give a few problems at times, but then overall a great car to have.
I have been driving a cielo for five years now and I have never regretted the decision of buying this car.
The car has a very strong body. Infact better than the others. I had a head on collision with a truck, but only because of the bumper I can say "It saved my life". If it would have be some other car then probably I wouldn't be writing this message.
Apart from that Mileage is absolutely fine. Its has a satisfactory pick up with the A/C. but its six years now and still my car touches a speed of 160 mph with five people on board. That's Amazing!!! I Love Daewoo Cielo GLE.
I just bought a black cielo Gle 97. It was used by a business man and it was very well maintained. For the past one week I drove about 2000 km and am so glad I bought a cielo. the best thing about it is the pick up, and the smooth drive. Mileage is around 12. Am looking forward to a long relation ship with this car. Hope I will be adding some positive comments about my car in the near future.
Its been 2 months I bought my black cielo from a business man. Its going great for now, I hope it continues like this. I converted it to LPG and its going great, its giving a mileage of 11 with gas in city and on the highways its giving 12. When I drive my car on petrol in cities its giving me 11 and on highways its giving 15-16 without AC.
After hearing all those rumors about a cielos mileage my car came up as a pleasent surprise to me. I am jus loving my cielo.
I have dewoo cielo 98 model. In city it gives 11 with AC. Went to Pune-Bbay express Highway, it gave average of 17.Overall a spacious and luxurious car.
I bought a 1998 Cielo GLE Mumbai registration car in 2004 which was previously owned by an Italian Shipping Company. The car was in good condition. On petrol it gives 10KMPL in city and 12KMPL on Highway. I retro-fitted it with Zavoli LPG kit and am getting 9KMPL in city and 11KMPL on highway, though there is a slight reduction in pickup on gas. Parts are available in Mumbai/Pune. I replaced brake pads, spark plugs & coolant cap. On Mumbai Pune Express highway I touched speed of 140 on Gas. Overall value for money.
I am having a cielo executive now last 6 years purchased it in Nov 1999. It gives me 11kms in city and 13 kms on highway. pickup is excellent and car is fantastic. Till date I never regretted buying the car. Its AC is the best and car seat is very comfortable. I have spent very little on the service and have not changed any original part yet and still it is going great. I love my car. Lot of people have approached me for buying the car (it is in excellent condition and has done 49000kms) but I am not selling it. I have driven many other cars and own other cars, but this car is going to stay with me till I can.
Thanks for that great car. It is really powerful and smooth on the road. It saves my money as it doesn't cost much petrol. Its AC is very good and better than many cars I drove before. But it is a little bit difficult to find its spare parts in some countries for example, Oman.
It is not fair to close the Daewoo agency in OMAN. WHY? Please OPEN again or make your spare parts available.

One of my friends has picked up a 1999 Cielo for Rs.55000. It was equipped with a CNG kit, and the previous owner had kitted it with leather seats and a fancy music system. Excellent first car I say, since its been running flawlessly since the last 8-9 months. Spares would be a problem though.
I bought a '97 year Daewoo Cielo from a doc and am very satisfied with the car. The most beautiful thing about this car is its exhaust note. When you rev the engine it sounds somewhat like those Italian sports cars. No other Indian car gives you this aural pleasure. Other cars spend a fortune on exhausts to get this sound effect. I live in Vizag and spares are easily available. My car never gave me any trouble. I drive it on petrol (sorry, no LPG / CNG kits for me!). On several occassions I touched 150 and the car was rock-steady. I get 10 KPL in city and 14 on highway, always with Aircon on. Its dimensions are very imposing and since my car (canterbury green) is of metallic shade and is in showroom condition with alloys, DVD, 8" color monitor, spoiler etc., it turns heads. It is smaller only than a Sonata, Accord and Camry. It eclipses all other cars in size, including Octavia and Lancer. Now if that isn't most money for your bucks, then nothing is. My advise to buyers--do not buy Rs.50,000/- cars. They are generally beat-up and probably nothing works in such cars. Pay more instead and buy a near-showroom condition car. I paid 1.8 lakhs for it and have no regrets because it looks like it just stepped out of a showroom. My car is one of a kind among Cielos in this city and it is in such a good shape that it can even rub shoulders with a brand new Corolla in a parking lot, without feeling ashamed.
Hi my name is kiran, i bought a black cielo 1996 GLE,single owner Genuinely run only 35,500kms, but I get only abt 8kms mileage. i have no idea abt cielo, I'm just looking on how to improvise on mileage, i'll be happy if I get 10-11kmpl in city. I REALLY NEED SOME VALUABLE GUIDANCE.

I recently bought a 1999 Daewoo Nexia, it was a chauffer driven car and very well maintained with a few slight dents on it, but a graet car indeed, but I am facing a small problem with the rpm of the car. Whenever I accelerate or shift the gears from 1st to 2nd or change gears when the car is in slow motion, the car just revs up during gear change and the rpm needle just won't come down until I engage the required gear and let go off the clutch. I want some help and information on this and I also want to know if I can get a dealer in PUNE who would provide me with body kits for my car (skirtings and some body beautifications) for my Nexia (upgraded version of the Cielo). I recently purchased a 1996 GLX cielo. the handling is superb. but I have some electrical issue with the ac, it doesn't turn on adding to that the blower is not that strong, I paid 68,000 and the car has a Gas kit. when I purchased it the car had done about 1,98,000 km, but used by a gentleman we knew and he never abused the car. the body is in great shape. the pick up is superb. I feel the suspension is not that soft and it might require changes of the bush. in city I got a very poor mileage of 4km-pl and on the high way got 8-9 km-pl. could you kindly give me you feed back as in what should be done to improve the mileage and what else can be done to bring it back in excellent condition. Its kiran again, yes the same person who asked for suggestions on 26th Aug 2006, 08:35 on car survey, yes I'm still the owner of Cielo, initially I was not happy that I bought cielo, but now I would say I'm in love with cielo, i haven't spent any major money on cielo since 7 months, just spent few bucks on tuning the engine for better mileage and power steering washer kit, i got LPG kit fitted as well, there's no drop in pick up at all, cielo precisely follows my orders, i touched about 150km on Bangalore-Mysore Highway, car didn't shake at all. Both Front and rear looks of the cielo is awesome, looks great than any other car. Mileage obviously have to compromise, gives me abt 9kmpl in city/12-13 on highways coz I rip the car on highways. All I would say is,if at all cielo is manufactured again, i'll be the first person to buy the BRAND NEW CIELO.
