Nothing.
It's good on gas. it out performs stock 5 liter mustangs and kills honda's with numerous mods.
Are you serious when you say that a z-24 will beat a mustang GT???
You must mean one of those crappy V6 mustangs, or you must have some extensive modifications.
I also have a modified Z and it is quick, but we're comparing a grocery-getter to a muscle car. You are way off.
Acutally I bet the cavalier can outperform a mustang, ford over rates their power for the mustang, I have a stock v6 2000 firebird, and I have beaten a 96 gt, 97 gt, and 98 mustang gt with the car, (the gt being the mustang with the v8) which I think is kind of sad, and the power to weight ratio of the z24 is pretty good, my brother has a z24 and it will kindof keep up with my firebird, so maybe you should ride in a mustang before you think theyre fast, a camaro is fast, mustangs are not, a mustang is a family car now a days, it is no longer a muscle car.
Wow, a 3800 equipped 200hp/220tq camaro beating a mustang gt? that's hard to belive. I'm surprised the boat anchor of an engine L37 (i think) didn't sink. They weigh a lot, and can no way beat a mustang GT, unless they're being driven by stupid drivers.
So how many V6 powered Camaros and Firebirds have beaten your Mustang GT?
"Actually I bet the cavalier can outperform a mustang"
There is no doubt that a z24 caviler could outperform a v6 mustang, just about anything can, but to say that it could beat a v8 is just nonsense. Yes the ol z-24 got some pretty decent power (test drove one and was fairly impressed) for the money, but there by no means a high performance super vehicle.
