Trip computer went out prior to warranty expiring, otherwise would have cost $1000+ to replace.
New brake pads annually, new rotors a couple of times. (I don't tow or haul anything)
Rear end rebuilt at 74K miles.
4wd gear drive, ball joints and pitman arm at 79K miles.
Squeak in drivers door that is unidentifiable therefore has not been fixed.
The whole concept of the Expedition is great, I love the looks, the ride, etc. Having these frequent serious mechanical failures, however, has soured my fondness. I will be researching quality and reliability reports more closely on future vehicle purchases.
I find that to be unbelievable. I have an expidition with over 200K. I am on the 3rd set of brakes. I have never changed the plugs that are only good for 100k on miles. I only had to replace the front hubs. I think the driving habits of a large heavy vehicle is the cause of most of the wear. In the locking rearend, the limited slip additave should be added every 30k miles I feel. The brakes usually last me 60k on the miles. I hope things go better for your Expiditon.
But is yours the same year? If it's a later model than that being reviewed, it might have been improved over the year (s).
